From refugee to GCSE success!
Mohammad Al Saeed came as a refugee from Syria in year 6. He didn’t speak a word of English, learning the language up till year 8. With COVID, all in-person learning was disrupted, and some of the most critical years of his learning and speaking in school didn’t happen.
He came to us to help him with his English Language and Literature for GCSE which he sat in the summer of 2022, the first summer of exams after COVID. ClassTutor was able to subsidise his lessons with the help of the READ Foundation scholarship, making our premium group tuition affordable for his family.
Mohammad worked extremely hard in our lessons and at school, and his results reflected this. He achieved
- English language: grade 6
- English literature: grade 8
- Maths: grade 7
- Combined science: grade 77
Mohammad is now studying Maths, Chemistry and Biology for his A-Levels with aims to study Dentistry or Engineering at university. He plans to continue his studies with ClassTutor having seen the benefit of the lessons.
