Hi, I’m a first year medical student at UCL. I have a particular interest in biology and would love to share this passion with others! I enjoy being a tutor as I can be part of students’ journeys and seeing them overcome difficulties in their academics. Furthermore, I believe being a tutor allows me to be a positive role model for my students and push them to achieve their best.
In lessons that I plan I like to make it as interactive as possible by asking the student questions and guiding them to the correct answers. By doing so I can ensure that students are fully engaged and understand the reasoning behind a concept. I fully believe that whilst progress can be made in a lesson it is just as important to continue to practice and develop your understanding between each lesson. Hence, I will set regular homework and give constructive feedback for the student to focus on. Over the past two years, I have worked as a tutor at a centre where I was responsible for planning and delivering lessons. I mainly tutored for the 11+ and students from primary up to GCSE. I had to regularly keep track of their progress and communicate this to their parents. Hence, I can assure that I have the required experience to deliver productive and constructive lessons.
