I graduated from the University of Maryland with a Bachelor’s in Astrophysics, followed by a Master’s in Education. I moved from America to the UK in 2016 and began teaching KS3 and GCSE Science (Physics, Biology and Chemistry).
For 6 years, I successfully worked with a diverse cohort of Year 7 through 11 students. Due to this success, I was promoted to Head of Physics in only my 4th year of teaching. I specialise in preparing Year 11 students for their GCSE exams, using my extensive curriculum knowledge and detailed understanding of the exam boards’ content. I have helped hundreds of students achieve excellent exam results, including those with EAL and SEND needs. To accomplish this, I deliver accessible, yet challenging lessons designed to encourage high student engagement. In my lessons, I deliver explanations enthusiastically and include real-life contexts, which fortifies students’ understanding and increases their interest in a topic. My passion for science has been described as “contagious” and I look forward to sharing this with new tutees!
